Assessment and Therapy

Following an initial telephone conversation, I will identify any areas where I may be able to offer help or support through therapeutic intervention.

Through a process of collaborative exploration and goal-setting, I will develop a meaningful plan and framework for therapy.

Depending upon the individual needs and preferences of the client, specific psychological models will inform the therapeutic process. The emphasis is always upon creating a trusting and secure therapeutic space where empathy, compassion and choice are guiding principles.

I use an integrative approach, meaning that elements of a range of therapeutic models are embedded within my approach.

I am trained in the following models:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Schema Focused Therapy
